OUR STORY & TIMELINE

MyCropTechnologies (sister company of Agworks, LLC, formed in 2010 by Rafe Hargrove, Ed King, Robert Gideon, Carl Gideon, and Scott Sell) was born out of a desire to provide agricultural insurance agents and their farmers with a cutting edge yet affordable way to interface with USDA’s crop insurance programs and privately-offered insurance solutions.

OUR STORY & TIMELINE

MyCropTechnologies (sister company of Agworks, LLC) was born out of a desire to provide agricultural insurance agents and their farmers with a cutting edge yet affordable way to interface with USDA’s crop insurance programs and privately-offered insurance solutions.

  • 2010: AgWorks, LLC is formed by Rafe Hargrove, Ed King, Robert Gideon, Carl Gideon, and Scott Sell after they decide to pool their knowledge of insurance and software development and create a company unlike anything in the marketplace. They saw an urgent need for an agricultural insurance software that was in line with current technology trends and projections yet easy to use.
  • 2011: The AgWorks Application Framework is released with support for major crops. Functionality is expanded over the next few years to support additional crops, plans of insurance, and private products. Several new AIPs join our customer base.
  • 2014: MyCropTechnologies, LLC (MCT) is formed to manage the AgWorks Application Framework including the monitoring and implementation of RMA programs and their regulatory changes.
  • 2015: MCT delivers real-time support in quoting and policy processing for changes introduced with the 2014 Farm Bill. These changes include Margin Protection, Whole Farm Revenue Protection, and Stacked Income Protection policies as well as the Supplemental Coverage Option and Beginning Farmer/Rancher benefits, just to name a few.
  • 2016: MCT overhauls the user interface of the AgWorks Application Framework—improving workflow, reducing clicks, and boosting overall system performance.
  • 2017: MCT expands the AgWorks Application Framework with an integrated mapping system, optimization of the quoting module, and initial development of eSignature platform to allow insureds and agents to electronically sign vital insurance forms.
  • 2018: MCT designs the Dairy Revenue Protection policy processing framework developed by AgWorks, which is deployed in conjunction with RMA’s release of the product. MCT continues to support and improve for the DRP software to meet regulatory changes. The mapping system supports CLU-based reporting.
  • 2019: MCT implements support for Multi-County Enterprise Units, Veteran Farmer/Rancher benefits, and companion policies and continues to develop and deliver industry-leading software solutions.
  • 2020: MCT implements support for the RMA’s new pilot programs, such as Hurricane Insurance Protection (HIP), Nursery Value Select (NVS), Hemp, Apple Trees, and Enterprise Units by Cropping Practice, as well as the RMA’s updates to existing programs, such as Whole Farm Revenue Protection, Multi-County Enterprise Units, and more. Architecture updates to the AgWorks Application Framework improve System performance and speed.
  • 2021: MCT introduces tools to help users more seamlessly key policy data for multiple detail lines and coverages from one location. It also keeps pace with the RMA’s regulatory changes to existing programs and unit structures, deploying support for its newest pilot programs, including Enhanced Coverage Option (ECO), Hybrid Specialty Seed (HSS), Production Revenue History (PRH), & Quality Loss Option (QLO). A dashboard is added to the Livestock module to allow users to track and update Livestock policies from one place. Backend technology stack updates also continue through 2021 to further futureproof its offerings.
  • 2022: MCT optimizes detail line entry/maintenance for many crops/plans for faster policy processing. Implements support for new RMA regulatory changes, including WRFP (Plan 76) – Micro Farm (9110), Post-Application Coverage Endorsement (PACE), Unit Division Grid Option (UDGO), Transitional and Organic Grower Assistance Program (TOGA), Pomegranates Pilot Program, and Enterprise Units by Type (ET). Migrates Livestock Gross Margin (LGM) and Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) to the PASS transmission system. Updates Estimator to offer quoting of Companion MP/MP-HPO policies. Develops Adjuster mobile applications on new platforms. Continues to install and optimize new technologies to improve overall user experience and web development capabilities.

OUR CULTURE

We build products we believe inthat we’re excited about. We encourage our employees to think outside the box, play with new concepts, and dip their toes in the impossible. Some of our best projects started with “So, I’ve got this crazy idea…”

We put in long hours but recognize the power of play in spurring creativity, inspiring innovation, and feeding passion, so the old adage “work hard, play hard” has never rang truer.

Many of us work remotely, but others work in our Texas or Montana offices. We stay connected via video and text chat, regular phone conferences, annual meetings, and email so we know more than most about how the web is changing the workplace and business landscape.
